A 33-year-old African-American computer engineer who turned down a job at Apple in order to work for Uber, five months later, killed himself from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Power of Prayer

I just returned from a one-month trip to Israel, where we celebrated the bat mitzvah of my eldest daughter, Maya. Israel is, in my opinion, the most incredible country on Earth. For someone like me who loves history, archaeology, spirituality, politics, good food, great weather, and spending time with family, there is no better place to be (apologies to the Grateful Dead’s “Tennessee Jed”). Yet my time in Israel did not afford me enough opportunity to delve into its depth. I could, and probably should, spend a lifetime there to explore and understand that depth.

Bay Area Hip-Hop Artists File Lawsuit Against SFPD

The Law Offices of Joel H. Siegal has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the San Francisco Police Department and the City and County of San Francisco after uniformed and plainclothes police officers arrested and detained at gunpoint 19 innocent African-American men who were recording and performing a music video in the Bayview-Hunters Point section of San Francisco.
